Online archiving system EASY
The online archiving system EASY provides direct access to the data contained in the collections of the DANS data archive. Data and documentation files can be downloaded free of charge. The majority of the datasets can be downloaded in one time. Please note that downloading datasets of more than 800 MB and 400 files is limited. In that case, please contact us via help and support. In some cases, prior permission from the original researcher is required, but a large part of the collection is available as Open Access publications. EASY can also be used for the online depositing of your own research data.
DANS launches new version of EASY
As of August, the new version of the online archiving system EASY is operational. The content and the principle behind the system are the same: one system for data archiving and to search for data. The performance and layout however are completely renewed.

Finding data in EASY
There are various search options to help you find data in EASY. You can submit a search of the entire collection or you can search for data in each scientific discipline. If you have not been able to find the data you were looking for, we will be glad to assist you in your search through our Datactive service.
In addition to data searching in EASY, you can also search for data in the DANS Data Portal. This portal provides access to a large number of other data collections which have been archived at other data archives and repositories, both national and international.
Depositing data in EASY
EASY allows you to deposit your research data online. A licence agreement is concluded, in which you specify yourself to what extent your data are accessible to others. You can archive your data using a personal account. You are assisted by an extensive guide, an online helpdesk as well as our DANS staff. You will find more information on depositing data under the entry Depositing Data.
Persistent Identifier
A Persistent Identifier (PI) is automatically assigned to each data file deposited in EASY. This is a unique identification code. The Persistent Identifier enables a sustainable and reliable reference to digital research data.
