XML P.I. : Analysis tool for XML resources
The success of XML is partly owing to the possibility of the format to store data in a structured and platform independent manner. However, even after this has taken place, searching for items, or compiling a report on the basis of these data can still be quite a formidable task. This is easily solved with XML P.I. Data can be stored in various ways and in various formats. An increasingly popular format for storage and exchange is XML, whereby the data can be exchanged irrespective of the software used for the creation. Anyone can therefore make use of it, whatever the platform or operating system.
This is primarily advantageous for normal documents. With data sets, however, problems arise at the time search commands are executed for the data. Although there are various search engines for XML, such as XQuery or XPath, there was still a need for a simpler way to query large data collections in XML.
XML Private Investigator is a complete software package that allows the user to analyse XML resources simply. In a short time the user can step by step execute different search commands for XML documents, varying from simple numeric queries to complex queries for which different XML resources have to be linked. XML P.I. was developed as an open source application, and is now available for free downloading.
