Inventory of language and text databses in the Netherlands
In this project the existing infrastructure for language and text databases in the Netherlands and the wishes of users in this field is being inventoried. The object is to reach recommendations for the improvement of the creation, the use and the storage of language and text databases.
It is possible that the infrastructure in the field of language and text databases in the Netherlands is at present not (yet) optimally organised. This project is therefore aimed at mapping the existing infrastructure with a primary focus on possible gaps. Also being inventoried are the user wishes with respect to this infrastructure among language and literature researchers. This should result in recommendations for improvements. The project will be wound up in the spring of 2008 with a publication and a workshop in which the findings of the project will be presented and discussed by researchers in these areas.
Project targets
- Chart the databases in the Netherlands in the field of language and literature studies.
- Wishes of database users in the field of language and literature for the purpose of inventorying scientific research.
- Formulate recommendations to improve use, creation and storage of databases in the field of language and literature.
