EASY Electronic Archiving SYstem
To facilitate exchange of research data between researchers and to give them the opportunity to store their data in a safe and permanent manner, DANS developed the Electronic Archiving System. This system has been online since February 2007 and is being constantly improved by the DANS development team.
Many scientific disciplines use databases to structure large amounts of data and make them searchable. Even outside the scope of individual research projects, many of these databases have a certain added value. However, only very few researchers are aware of the wealth of data that is available from other researchers. Moreover, owing, among others, to all the associated administrative tasks, sharing data is often seen by researchers as more of a hindrance than a privilege. The EASY system is intended to make it as simple as possible for researchers to share their data with others and to obtain insight into what the data horizon has to offer.
