Third Dutch workshop European Social Survey: Call for papers
The third Dutch Workshop European Social Survey will be held on 17 June 2010 and its theme will be ‘Nederland in de jaren nul’ (the Netherlands in the zero years). DANS organizes it in conjunction with the national coordinator of the European Social Survey (ESS) in the Netherlands, Professor Kees Aarts.
The workshop, which is held every two years and occasionally annually, offers a meeting place for researchers that use the ESS data. It gives them the opportunity to exchange information on these data. Moreover, the meeting functions as a forum for the first presentation of analyses of the contents of this growing data collection, the importance of which is acknowledged nationally and internationally. Official language will be Dutch, but English presentations and papers are welcome.
Meanwhile, the data of four ESS rounds (2002-2008) have become available. That is the reason behind the request to pay special attention to the developments in the Netherlands in the first decade of the 21st-century, this time. The proceedings of the workshop will contain abstracts of the papers (in Dutch or English) and a number of key articles that pay attention to the workshop’s theme. Publishing house Aksant will include the proceedings in the series of DANS Symposium Publications.
Interested parties are invited to contribute to the ESS workshop. They can submit their paper by sending the abstract to Kees Aarts: c.w.a.m.aarts at utwente.nl before 1 April.
Information about the workshop is available from marion.wittenberg at dans.knaw.nl.
