Most recent files of pupil survey COOL now in EASY
This summer, the first results of the pupil survey COOL were deposited into EASY. This longitudinal survey focuses on pupils aged five to eighteen. The school careers of more than 70,000 pupils are followed through primary and secondary education and ‘mbo’. Data are collected in three rounds of questionnaires and tests so as to be able to describe and explain the development and performance of children during their school careers.
The new so-called cohort study – studies carried out in a particular age segment - is the successor to the PRIMA cohort study for primary education. Similar to PRIMA, COOL5-18 is carried out for the Netherlands organization for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Now, not only can the circumstances at a certain point in time be mapped but also developments because within COOL, more measurements over time will take place. The COOL study serves as ‘thermometer’ for national government with regard to developments in education and as a source of information for all sorts of policy questions. To researchers, COOL offers a unique data file for various types of analyses. And anyone who wants to may deploy COOL as data source for all sorts of information regarding education in the Netherlands. The file can be found in DANS EASY.
