DANS EASY Online Analysis Tool

In addition to EASY archiving system, DANS offers researchers and research organisations the option to publish survey data integrally with documentation via the DANS EASY Online Analysis Tool.

This application with deeper access to data offers extensive search options of all variables and queries in a database. Creating and analyzing the tables online as well as downloading the data and documentation belong to the possibilities.

DANS EASY Online Analysis Tool uses NESSTAR software and is based on the DDI standard (Data Documentation Initiative).

DANS offers a number of options for publication:

1. Publishing on the DANS server
With this option the tool used to publish the data, the NESSTAR Publisher, including eight hours of instruction and supervision, is made available free of charge.

2. Publishing on a dedicated server
This option entails that a separate server is created and made available for data from a certain project. It includes the following facilities:

• Use of a dedicated DANS server (hardware)
• Security and backup
• Installation and maintenance of a dedicated DANS NESSTAR server (software)
• Option to formulate an individual access policy, within the present capacity of NESSTAR
• Option for automatic user registration for a single group of users
• Option to implement individual graphics such as a logo and images in the standard DANS layout. The features of the dedicated servers are more or less uniform; however, there is sufficient scope for specific presentations of the partners.
• Use of the NESSTAR Publisher
• Twenty hours of instruction and support in publishing.

The option 'dedicated server' is not free of charge.
